The typically-Spanish village of La Mata, is a great place to spend a
holiday. Always lots going on, plus it's not far to travel for other
things going on in other nearby areas.
What La Mata thankfully isn't - it
isn't a holiday resort for stag nights, hen
parties, football tours etc, as there's no nightclubs or discos in La Mata and because La Mata doesn't have the noisy nights or difficult to park problems that the neighbouring towns of Torrevieja and Guardamar have, it makes it the ideal place to relax and enjoy yourself.
There's the popular street markets of La Mata within easy walking distance, there's also an abundance of restaurants offering international as well as local cuisine, whatever your taste in food, you'll find it on the Costa Blanca. Plus medical facilities including English speaking doctors, dentists and chemists are
all here - everything to ensure your every need is catered for.
Also, this part of La Mata is totally flat, so ideal for anyone who is maybe elderly or with very young children, or for disabled people. This part of La Mata is totally
compatible with wheelchairs and/or pushchairs.
The region has a varied coastline ranging from Blue Flag sandy beaches to
secluded coves. Water sports here are very popular and nearby there are three 18
hole golf courses, along with tennis, horse riding, scuba diving and other
sports for the more active, or you can simply just take it easy and enjoy the
relaxed Spanish lifestyle.
La Mata is also a great place for a family holiday, where the children want to
play by the swimming pool or the beach, or go to the local water park, and because of its great weather
for most of the year, it's also
an excellent place to holiday, all-year round.
Remember to walk along the lit-up boardwalk at the southern part of La Mata beach at night-time (between
9pm to 11pm), with the beach right next to you, with lots of Spanish families
out for their evening walks, you will sample a great atmosphere - not to be missed!
Also, ensure that you sample the great bars and restaurants that are
away from the main Church square, for example, in Avenida de los Europeos and all along the beach front.
